An Electric Fireplace Makes Sense

“One of the main features of our basement is the fireplace wall with built-ins,” Kylie of Truemans Treasures writes in her blog post documenting the renovation project. “We had absolutely nothing on the wall to begin with, it was a blank slate. From Dark Basement to Warm, Inviting Space

She built her ranch-style house 7 years ago with a full unfinished basement. Now, she and her husband "Handy Andy" have been busy finishing the basement with a family/living room, kitchen/bar area, and possibly a gaming area. An electric fireplace ties Kylie’s vision together by creating an inviting and warm centerpiece in an otherwise dark basement space.

The greatest part is that you can have the heat on or off and enjoy the look of the fireplace. The fireplace is controlled by a set of buttons right on the fireplace, or with a remote or Alexa. It has log and crystal options, as well. We went with the log because I wanted it to look more realistic.”

In just 5 months, Kylie and her husband finished building the wall complete with a mantel and a luxurious marble-like tile surround. “I’m so glad we went with the Touchstone Electric Fireplace. It was an easy install, and the fireplace works amazingly. I cannot wait to have Christmases in the basement around the fireplace.”
