Featured in numerous episodes of HGTV channel’s 100 Day Dream Home television series, Touchstone® Electric Fireplaces get glowing reviews from the builders and homeowners. Touchstone fireplaces are designed for quick installation, fitting right in with the fast-paced series and its 100-day deadline to build a custom home from the ground up.
In Season 4, Episode 4 "Cue Up a Dream Home," homeowners Taylor and Jeremy work with custom home specialists Mika and Brian Kleinschmidt to build their dream home in the countryside of Wimauma, Florida.
This growing family wants to incorporate their dual pool table-dining room table into the new home, along with an electric fireplace. Taylor shares her fond memories of growing up and spending family time in front of a fireplace, especially at Christmas and wintertime.
The fireplace accent wall reaches to the 38-foot beam that spans the cathedral ceiling. Matching the home’s modern farmhouse style black and white color scheme, the black-framed Touchstone Sideline® 60 Electric Fireplace is accented with whitewashed brick and chevron patterned white shiplap.
Mika and Brian “turn up the heat on this project” and add a surprise for the homeowners – a clever hidden storage drawer mantel built by Grace Customs. This “grand focal point” fireplace wall adds another bonus: the Touchstone fireplace has separate controls for heat and flames, so the fireplace can be enjoyed year-round – even on the hottest days in tropical Florida.
The traditionally sized Touchstone Forte Electric Fireplace is featured in two dream homes on Season 4 of HGTV’s 100 Day Dream Home. In Episode 9 "Plants in Plant City," homeowners Alex and Raelynn yearn for a spacious modern farmhouse with an open concept layout.
Raelynn wants an electric fireplace and looks forward to hanging stockings at Christmas. Alex loves herringbone and wants that design element in the new home. The 100 Day Dream Home crew delivers on both must-haves with a custom herringbone fireplace accent wall featuring the Touchstone Forte Electric Fireplace. Mika notes the herringbone elevates the design aesthetic and draws attention to movement.
In Episode 10 "Right in Our Own Backyard," homeowners Mike and Maria move back to Plant City, Florida to care for Mike’s father. With their focus on family gatherings, their dream home wish list includes a big kitchen, a large outdoor entertaining area, and a fireplace.
Maria initially wants a wood burning fireplace because it brings back memories of her childhood. Mike favors an electric fireplace for its convenience, noting, “You can turn it off when you are done. You don’t have to stay up to make sure there are no embers still going on.” Mika highlights another perk, explaining, “Cost wise, a wood burning fireplace is triple the cost of an electric fireplace.”
Maria and Mike love their fireplace accent wall featuring the Touchstone Forte Electric Fireplace, complete with built-ins on each side and a modern farmhouse look with black, white and contrasting stone. We love how Maria and Mike planned each element of their home to celebrate family time and honor the memory of Mike’s mother.
Always ready for prime time, Touchstone Electric Fireplaces have been featured in other episodes of HGTV 100 Day Dream Home. In Season 3, Episode 2, see how the HGTV team added a fireplace without burning the budget.
