Making its prime-time debut, the Touchstone Forte Recessed Electric Fireplace is featured in HGTV channel’s 100 Day Dream Home. In Season 3 episode 2, a Florida family uses an inheritance to build a custom home in a quiet kid-friendly spot.
The family wants a wood burning fireplace in their new construction home, but the $18,000 fireplace cost is beyond their budget. The 100 Day Dream Home team, Mike and Brian Kleinschmidt, surprise the family with a better option: a Touchstone Forte electric fireplace accent wall solution that “feels like a traditional wood burning fireplace, without burning the entire budget.”
Tampa area-based McKinnon Building Services designs and builds the shiplap and brick fireplace accent wall with custom surround shelving in a modern farmhouse style. Using the Forte’s specifications, the electric fireplace “fits like a glove” in the accent wall.
Owner Joe McKinnon shares, “From the initial inspiration, design sketch, and build out, this one was a lot of fun to build! This was the first time we had built a fireplace while a home was under construction. It was done over several weeks, first the framing went in and the entire frame was covered with drywall by builder. Afterwards we came in and built the fireplace and cabinets around that.” via Instagram @mckinnonbuildingservices
Our Touchstone Home Products team is proud to be part of this heartwarming project. We especially love seeing Maurico, Cristen and their children enjoy the coziness of the Touchstone Forte Electric Fireplace. The Forte’s cool-to-the-touch fireplace front adds peace of mind in a home with young children.
The Forte Fireplace's cool-to-the-touch front glass flame display is ideal for homes with young children and pets.
The Forte offers the look of a “real” fireplace without the added costs of a venting system, chimney, gas, firewood and propane. Touchstone’s realistic LED flame technology and built-in heater adds the same warmth and ambiance of a wood burning fireplace, plus the ease of remote control operation with no gas or smoke smell. The Forte plugs into a standard outlet or can be hardwired by a professional and is ideal for new home construction, bump out wall addition or retrofitting.
