Last Spring, Tracy's (@tracylowry12) house was struck by lightning while she was working a shift as a nurse at a hospital. The lightning strike directly hit her brick chimney, causing part of the brick to fall onto the roof and ground. The strike not only ruined the internal structure of the chimney, but it also blew holes out of the walls and damaged the plumbing and gas lines.
Unfortunately, the insurance settlement barely covered the repairs, with the chimney as the most expensive structure to fix. Tracy’s money-saving solution: transform her damaged wood-burning fireplace into an electric fireplace.

As horrible as it has been, it has been a blessing in many ways!”
